House Of Hustle presents: Indie Tech Mastery by Lucas Bahr.
Lucas Bahr is a Brazilian DJ and producer from Bahia who has lived in Rio de Janeiro since he was twelve. He started on hip-hop beats at fifteen before moving into electronic music. "Take" and "Baile" are out on Cloonee's Hellbent Records, "DYRL" on Elrow and "Pptão" on Nervous Records, with further releases on Lee Foss's Repopulate Mars and on Sola. He runs Mal Bolado Records and its funk-leaning sublabel TDAH Records. His music has been supported by Marco Carola, PAWSA, Cloonee, Chris Stussy, Ben Sterling, Odd Mob, AYYBO and Jamie Jones.
Indie Tech Mastery is 980 MB of loops and one shots, inspired by the sound of Adam Ten, Mita Gami, Yamagucci and Rafael, alongside Diynamic, Maccabi House and Crosstown Rebels. It sits on the heavier, more club-focused side of Indie Dance, with the polish of the peak-time Indie Tech sound: punchy drums, prominent basslines and bold synth hooks, held together by driving grooves. Warm analog-inspired synths and organic percussion keep the Indie Dance side in the mix.
What stands out is the musicality. Every bassline, synth and percussion loop was written to carry character and work as the foundation of a track, not as a generic loop. The bass is warm, rolling and prominent, with movement in the low end. The drums are punchy and organic, sitting slightly off the grid for a loose swing, and the synths bring the hooks.
Built for Indie Tech and Indie Dance, and any groove-driven club production. 124 to 128 BPM.
