House Of Hustle 2024 Recap: A Decade of Groove and Growth
Share
Ten years in, and we are just getting started. This trip through the year has been amazing, thanks to the artists we’ve gotten to know and the music we’ve released into the world. Doctor Jack’s opening release for 2024, Disrespectful Bass, peaked at #2 on Beatport’s Tech House chart and received support from headliners such as Dubfire.
The rally continued when Jahir’s mid-year release, Back in the 90s, hit #1 on Beatport’s Tech House chart. Then Seek-One and Mr. X-Ray’s Resonate went on to get aired on Dirtybird’s and Diplo’s SiriusXM shows. We’re grateful to see Holt 88’s debut album, Malu’s Dream—dedicated to his beautiful daughter—time-capsuled in Mixmag.
Joining our team this year was the Ontario-based General Moses as the host for our radio show. He also laid down his production, incubated at the Toolroom Academy, to kick off our baby sister label, Hustletrax, in collaboration with Australian actress, model, and now vocalist Ellie Gonsalves for I’m Awake. Beyond the radio show and personal releases, Adam has been uncovering stories from music industry heads on our new Dream Chasers podcast.
As we continue to embrace creativity and hustle, our global presence grows. A special shoutout to Marco (aka Kapowsky), who has been waving the House Of Hustle flag in Italy for a few years and leading our A&R and publishing efforts. This international expansion embodies our mission to champion raw talent and celebrate collective experiences through music.
This year would not have felt whole without our revival in California, thanks to our long-time studio mate Seek-One’s legendary Space Taco party brand. The House Of Hustle Takeover and 10th Anniversary event showcased Foolie B2B 96 Vibe, Mr. X-Ray, Skonka, and Bori at Mad Gallery and The Basement. Plus, we graced San Diego in collaboration with our friends at Shelter to celebrate Cole Vassallo and Maddy Ladd’s dance floor heater, NSFW. At the same time, Kapowsky and 22 Weeks delivered a standout pop-up event during the Amsterdam Dance Event.
Let these 2024 House Of Hustle releases and Hustle Radio guest mixes spin to showcase our headhunted talent from Los Angeles, California, to Kharkiv, Ukraine. In true House Of Hustle form, 28 releases included a mega 10th Anniversary Compilation, Dimes Volume 10, 11, and 12, multiple EPs from artists with previous releases on Spinnin’ Records, Toolroom, Dirtybird, CUFF, Relief, REALM, This Ain’t Bristol, and Box of Cats, as well as fresh, minimal vibes on our new singles-only label, Hustletrax.
All the while, General Moses welcomed 23 artists as the host of our relaunched Hustle Radio shows, taking the label to new heights. Since launching on July 31, 2014, with TUSK’s timeless naughty bass, One Life, alongside Sirus Hood’s delectable refuck, we’ve come a long way.
For the year’s final record, 78 artists found a home at House Of Hustle and Hustletrax—64 with official releases, 12 offering radio guest mixes, and six contributing sample packs. Our popular Bang For Free series made Sundays unmissable with 52 free singles. In 2024, our releases garnered over 27.8 million streams, with 122 tracks landing on Beatport’s Top 100 charts. Latour’s wonky tribal Australian club record, Kookaburra, even broke into ARIA’s Top 50 at #28 in its first week. Connecting with these incredible souls of house music has fueled us throughout 2024.
As we reflect on 2024, it’s clear that this year paved the way for new directions. As we step into our second decade, we’re evolving beyond our Dirty Tech House roots, placing an even greater emphasis on groove and musicality.
Here’s to the artists, fans, and collaborators who made 2024 a year to remember. Together, we’re shaping the future of dance music, one beat at a time.
